# Home Electricity Audit

Build an electricity inventory for up to eight loads. Enter measured watts, annual label kWh, daily energy or energy per cycle; then rank the loads and test your own reductions.

The starting inventory contains three named model examples, with illustrative schedules. It is not a typical household. Unentered heating, cooling, water heating and other loads are excluded.

Included loads only

$4.54 per month, annual average

This is an inventory estimate, not a complete electricity bill. Seasonal costs are spread over 12 months for this headline.

- **Annual energy**: 298 kWh
- **Annual cost**: $54.50
- **Your proposed reductions**: $0.00/year

18.31¢/kWh · US EIA residential benchmark, 2026-07

## Largest entered loads

1. **LG OLED55C5 TV (example)**226 kWh/year · $41.30/year 75.8% of entered energy · 1 unit(s) · 123.6 W × 5 h/day × 100% duty × 365 days/year per unit Your 0% reduction: 0.000 kWh and $0.00 per year.
2. **Hunter 52391 fan, lights excluded (example)**47.7 kWh/year · $8.74/year 16.0% of entered energy · 1 unit(s) · 39 W × 8 h/day × 100% duty × 153 days/year per unit Your 0% reduction: 0.000 kWh and $0.00 per year.
3. **Dell P2425H monitor (example)**24.3 kWh/year · $4.46/year 8.2% of entered energy · 1 unit(s) · 11.7 W × 8 h/day × 100% duty × 260 days/year per unit Your 0% reduction: 0.000 kWh and $0.00 per year.

After all entered reductions: **$54.50/year**. At a state benchmark these are cost differences, not a promise of bill savings. Use your variable tariff for avoided charges.

The CSV includes the entered assumptions. Scenario URLs contain these inputs and may remain in browser history or hosting logs.

## A useful measurement checklist

1. List the largest electrical loads first. Include heating, cooling and water heating when they are electric, plus EV charging if relevant.
2. Measure representative operating periods. A refrigerator needs enough time to include compressor cycling and defrost; a short maximum-watt reading is not annual energy.
3. For each entry record the model, energy basis and schedule. Keep fan lights, TV standby and computer accessories separate if the figure excludes them.
4. Count each load once. A laundry total that includes water heating must not be added alongside that same water-heater energy.
5. Compare the annualized inventory with a full year of utility kWh. Gaps can reflect missing loads, seasonality or measurement error; fixed bill fees are not kWh.
6. Change one achievable assumption at a time. This tool does not infer savings from product labels or prescribe changes that compromise comfort or safe operation.

### Where the three example wattages come from

The starting TV is the LG OLED55C5\*\*\* at 123.6 W under the federal on-mode test. The Hunter Dempsey 52391 fan uses its 39 W EnergyGuide typical-use figure, excluding lights; this is not a maximum-speed reading. The Dell P2425H monitor uses 11.7 W rated on-mode, excluding standby and USB loads. Schedules are editable assumptions, not measured household behavior.
