An average active month is 365/12 (30.42) days.
Entered stages circulate 31,843 gross gallons per use day in 8.00 running hours. Water can pass through the pump repeatedly.

Read the model record before using a rating
The Jandy reference is a variable-speed, self-priming in-ground filter pump, certified October 16, 2023. Its ENERGY STAR data reports weighted energy factor 8.2 kgal/kWh and separate electrical readings. WEF is a weighted test metric; neither WEF nor motor horsepower is a direct wattage input.
| Point | Watts | GPM | RPM | Head (ft) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Low | 127.70 | 31.17 | 1,310.00 | 8.20 |
| High | 876.27 | 66.34 | 2,752.00 | 36.00 |
Different plumbing, filters, valves and speed settings change flow, head and electrical draw. A pressure-cleaner booster pump is not an interchangeable filter-pump comparison. Record watts and flow at each installed operating point.
Compare single-speed and variable-speed filter pumps for the same circulated volume, using a sourced above-ground pair or your installed measurements.
Daily kWh is the sum of watts × hours ÷ 1,000 for each stage, plus entered standby for the unused hours. Same-volume baseline runtime is gross gallons ÷ (GPM × 60). Costs are shown only when that runtime fits within 24 hours. This arithmetic does not determine a pool's filtration, sanitation or freeze-protection requirements.
Make the estimate useful
- Enter measured watts for each actual speed and hydraulic operating point; motor horsepower is not electrical input.
- Use measured flow to compare the same circulated volume, and check that both schedules fit into 24 hours.
- Keep required flow for the filter, heater, sanitizer and freeze protection; the calculator does not set a safe filtration schedule.

Questions
Can I calculate pump electricity from horsepower?
Use measured electrical watts or kWh. Motor, hydraulic and electrical power are different quantities; speed, flow and system head affect input power.
Is the low-speed point always cheaper for the same result?
A low-power point can need more runtime. Compare measured flow and total daily energy for the required task. Equal circulated volume alone does not establish equivalent filtration or sanitation.
What happens if my baseline needs more than 24 hours?
It cannot circulate the same entered volume in a day at that flow. The tool shows the required hours and suppresses its cost difference.
Does this include a pool heater or winter operation?
Only entered pump use days and standby are included. Add heating, other pumps, salt systems and any off-season or freeze-protection energy separately.
